The St. Kilda Rd. Studio
St. Kilda, Melbourne 1997-8
In a way I have always been an artist. I decided that I was
definitely going to follow this path when I was 13. My friend was carving
a plaster sculpture and I was drawing it. I was so relaxed and happy
and thought to myself that this is what I always want to do.
My sister, Elizabeth and I were lucky because our father worked in the
Museum of Modern Art in New York, as a refrigeration mechanic. He kept
the rooms at the right temperature and humidity correct. We would go
in with him after hours and play on the sculptures and get a really
tactile experience of the paintings....
From 1979 until about 2000 I worked on and off in the theatre as a scenic
artist and production manager et al... You can click this
