I tend to work very hard and effectively to attract the attention of the media and have developed a particularly good rapport with the Art 2 Lunch team

Here are some articles relating to my recent exhibition at SOAp BOx gallery, 'Inner Workings', and my publicist for the project, Queensland Arts Marketing Network

INNER WORKINGS

Billy Shannon is a self-taught artist; his skills gained though the fortuitous meeting of some great painters and inspirational thinkers. An arts professional for well over twenty years, Billy has been surrounded by art from his early childhood.

Billy's father worked as a tradesperson at New York's Metropolitan Museum and Museum of Modern Art. As a child, his father would often take Billy and his sister into the gallery and museum after hours, where they were free to explore the collections.

We were encouraged to read and inquire and so together with my youthful fascination with Ancient Egypt, it was not long before, reading Shakespeare's 'Anthony and Cleopatra', and being drawn to a life in the performing and visual arts." Says Billy.

Now living and working from his home studio in New Farm, Billy literally lives and breathes his art. Preview Billy's work at http://www.artbilly.com
